At 34 degrees south latitude, it is late autumn here in Cape Town, South Africa on this early May afternoon. Thirty-four degrees equates to the latitude of the Atlanta, Georgia Airport or Los Angeles in the Northern Hemisphere – We have seen temperatures in the low 60s, which I think is pleasant, but I have heard more than one local complaining about the frigid conditions. To quote a line from the musical “Hamilton”, I would say with tongue-in-cheek that the “World turned upside down”. By that I mean it is a bit difficult to grasp winter in May. I’m sure that folks back home have been enjoying longer spring days, but here the sun is setting earlier and earlier. With that, I give you some winter-like “blue hour” pictures that we took tonight at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront.
