Our January ramblings in Grand Teton National Park have been somewhat limited because many of the roads are closed for winter. We wondered before we came if there would be enough to occupy our time for the 10 days that we would be here, but we have so much enjoyed going back to the same spots over and over.
The road along the Gros Ventre River toward Kelly has given us a wealth of opportunities and each day has been different. Our first night brought blowing snow and very slick roads, but we were bound to venture out and explore. Marcy got some shots that night, but I just stayed in the car. One morning, the young bull you see below popped up right next to us to begin feeding – I assume we interrupted his night’s slumber. The next morning featured beautiful hoar frost covering the trees. The swans were found in Kelly Warm Spring yesterday and as today came to an end, we found this large bull moose along the Gros Ventre River.
